A time exposure, painting light with a flashlight. The exposure was about 5 minutes. The grain in the wood was exaggerated by shining the flashlight on it at a very low angle. The flashlight technique makes it possible to have light apparently coming from impossible angles. The flashlight was actually within the picture area when exposing the central flowers. Because it is wrapped in flat black tape, and I keep it in motion, it doesn't show during the exposure. Click for a larger image.
