This is really not a shot from the car series, for technical rather than thematic reasons. It was taken many years before, and is a 35mm image, so it doesn't show well next to the other large format images in the series. Yet, it is another self-portrait with car (an obvious extension of "body"). Even at the time I owned it, this fastback 65 Mustang was a classic. The back seat was unsittably uncomfortable, because it folded forward to enable the stowage of ski's all the way back into the trunk. Next time you're stuck in traffic, look down, take a look at your legs, woven into the metal. Click on the pic for a truly roomy Mustang....
