John Farr was an artist from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, now relocated to New Mexico.
The amazing story behind his epic exodus can be found in his book Buffalo Lights.
He is standing behind a very large metal sculpture of a fish that he welded. His hand is on his chin because he's doing what he does well, thinking.
